Kasargod: A youth hailing from Bihar who was busy conversing over his mobile phone  met his tragic end after being run over by a speeding train on Thursday night near Kumbal.

The deceased is Mohan Shah (29). He was employed as a daily wage worker at Kumbla by a construction firm which was undertaking road repair work.

He was walking on the track, while conversing over the phone near Peruvad due to which he did not realise that the train was approaching close.

When he did not return to his accommodation till early Friday morning, his room-mates and other workers went in search of him.

They later found him on the railway track in a very critical state. He was rushed to Mangaluru Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
