Mangaluru: A youth has been arrested by the Konaje police after he allegedly attempted to molest a minor and another girl at Moodijera cross near Mangaluru University administrative block.

Khaleel(21), a resident of Mohiuddiin cross in Malar is the arrested.

It is learnt that on Friday, the minor girl after returning from school, had been to the beedi shop. While returning, the accused embraced her from behind and tried to molest her. The girl, however managed to escape. After sometime, the accused saw a 21-year-old girl passing by the same road and attempted to molest her too. Locals rushed to rescue after she screamed for help. He was caught and handed over to the local police. He has been booked under POCSO Act.

A case has been registered at Konaje police station.
