Bengaluru: The three suspects who were arrested in connection with the murder of Shahul Hamid during the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations have been granted bail by the High Court on Friday.

Shahul was killed after group clash between two communities turned violent during the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations in Madikeri in November, 2015.

The suspects H S Bhishma, PU Kaverappa and KR Ramesh were arrested on suspicion of killing Shahul.

Justice AV Chandrashekhar who heard the bail petition granted bail on the ground that their names were not part of the complaint registered by the Mysuru police.

A complaint was registered by the Mysuru police and the case was transferred to the Madikeri police. However, the names of the three suspects were not included in the complaint copy. The bench allowed the petition and granted them bail.
