Young woman of Mangalore origin among two drowned in Mysore

Mysore : A young woman hailing from Mangalore  was among two persons who drowned  near a dam at Mahadevapura in Arakere police station  limits on April 12, Friday.

The deceased  are Bhagya (18) and the car driver Ravi (35), both employees of St Joseph’s educational institution of Mysore.  The deceased Bhagya was the daughter of K Satyashanker of Sajipa in Mangalore.

She was staying at her aunt’s house at Sharadadevi Nagar of Mysore. The deceased driver Ravi was a resident of Dasanakoppalu.

Bhagya along with her relatives Hriday (10) and Sarvari(14) had  been to Mahadevapura  on  a picnic on account of Ugadi. It is said the mishap took place   when she was caught in the currents while she stepped into the water. Ravi who rushed to her help was also drowned.

The bodies were later recovered with the help of expert swimmers.
