Young woman killed as speeding lorry hits bike

Belthangady: A crash between a bike and a tipper at Badyar in Padangady village of Belthangady taluk claimed the life of a young girl Friday on January 31.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Jyothi who hails from Cherkady village in Brahmavar.

The accident  took place when Jyothi was pillion riding the bike along with her friend Nagaraj Naik, who also got injured in the accident.

The tipper driver, Abdul Sharief who was approaching from Venur bumped into the bike eventually landing Jyothi on the road. She was then run over by the tipper. Sharief is been blamed for his rash driving that caused the accident.
