Mangalore: The body of a recently-married woman, who was also a mother of a toddler, was found in the kitchen of her parental residence in Talipady village near Mulki on February 25, Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Mallika Anchan,wife of Sudhaker Poojari and daughter of Dejappa Poojari and Janaki. Mallika’s husband worked abroad and had visited his wife recently.

Reportedly, Mallika was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the floor of the kitchen in a face-up position. It is also learnt that she had marks of rope tightened around the neck.However, there was no relevant tool at the spot that could justify her suicide.

The body was rushed to the hospital after the grandmother of the deceased raised an alarm. Mallika was declared brought  dead. The body has been shifted to Wenlock Hospital for a post-mortem.

A case has been registered at Mulki police station. DCP (Crime) Vishnuvardhan and Ravi Kumar, ACP of Panambur Sub-Division are further investigating the matter.
