Bantwal: An electricity who climbed up an electric pole for repair work died after an electric shock, at Veerakamba village of Naduvalachhil here on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh Poojary (29), son of Narayana Poojary of Kelinja near Naduvalacchil.

The Poojary family had taken a new house on rent at Naduvalacchil and the family had decided to shift to the new rented house on Friday.

On Thursday morning, Suresh climbed up the electric pole to set right the connection to his new rented house. Unfortunately, the service line came in contact with the high tension wire killing Suresh on the spot.

After several hours, Suresh was rushed to hospital by a passerby, it is said.

Suresh was earlier employed in Mangaluru and had recently shifted to Kelinja after taking up job in a local electrical shop as contract worker.

He was married only a year ago and his wife is expected to deliver their first child in about ten days.
