Bantwal :  Forest officials who  have detected a case of smuggling   wood in a tempo at Ganadapadpu in B Mooda village, have arrested one person.

The arrested has been identified as Gopal Poojari.  The value of the tempo and the seized wood has been estimated at Rs 1.25 lakhs. A team of forest officials led by Deputy Range Forest Officer  HB Ramesh were waiting in hiding near Ganadapadpu following a tip off that wood was being smuggling in the tempo. The information turned true when the tempo of Poojari was intercepted and checked. He has been produced before court and released on bail.

Investigations are underway.
