Kasargod: A woman who was making an attempt to steal a gold chain from a fellow passenger in a bus was caught and handed over to the police.

The arrested has been identified as Manjeshwari from Tamil Nadu.

The woman along with another girl were travelling in a private bus. The woman reportedly tried to rob the chain from a passenger.

When the passenger screamed, both the thief and her companion tried to escape.

However, the passengers caught Manjeshwari and handed her over to the police. Meanwhile, the other girl is said to have managed to escape.

During the interrogation it was revealed that Manjeshwari was involved in several other theft cases.

She is also accused of snatching a chain from an elderly woman in Chattachal in 2012.
