Woman refutes accusation of links with Yasin Bhatkal

Udupi: In another dimension to the Yasin Bhatkal case, when it was alleged of him having been linked with a woman from Brahmavar, the woman has come in public and dismissed the allegations on Friday November 22.

The woman is identified as Yashodha Poojary (35), from Uppinakote at Brahmavar, who was alleged to have links with Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal, as her deceased husband’s family accused the woman on a news channel.

Speaking to the media personals Yashodha said, “I have done nothing wrong. I am extremely hurt by these allegations. I do not even know who Yasin Bhatkal is. I have never contacted any such persons.”

“My husband’s family is not in good terms with me, they had also made allegations against me with regards to the death of my husband, but I came out clean. My husband’s family has constantly harassed me from the time I got married till my husband’s death and even now. They keep accusing me with irrelevant things and I am innocent”, she added.

It is known that Yashodha stays with her mother along with her 12-year-old son. She runs a beauty parlour in Uppinakote. She had got married to Manjunath from Shimoga several years ago; Manjunath committed suicide in 2011 because of depression and left behind a death note.

Udupi SP Dr Boralingaiah too clarified to the media that police have no official information about Yashodha’s alleged links to Yasin Bhatkal. Although he confirmed that a cross examination will be conducted so that there is no doubts.
