Kapu: A woman police constable attached to Kapu police station allegedly died by suicide at her police quarters on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Jyoti, 29.
According to sources, she returned to her quarters where she lived with her husband after her duty on Friday night. Her husband, who works in KSRTC, was getting ready for work when he found Jyoti dead by suicide, allegedly hanging herself.
He immediately informed the local police, who rushed to the spot and found that she was dead. The reason for Jyoti’s extreme step is not yet known. Additional Superintendent of Police Siddalingappa, DySP Arvind Kallagujji, and Kapu Tahsildar Pratibha R visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
