Ponnampete: Mallanda Prakash, a Congress leader and former president of Arvatoklu Gram Panchayat, aged 57, was allegedly shot dead by his own brother, Subramani, at a farm in Beguru.
Prakash died on the spot, while his son also sustained bullet injuries and has been rushed to Mysuru for treatment. The reason for Subramani allegedly opening fire at his brother and nephew is not yet known.
Ponnampete police have visited the spot and are gathering more information related to the incident.
