Mangalore: A 62-year-old Sumathi Prabhu was killed on Saturday, February 8 night, in Kulai, Krishnapur. The thieves decamped with gold worth several lacs after committing the murder.

According to locals the 62-year -old lady was living alone in the house and at that evening a couple of strangers were seen taking rounds in the locality with their bikes. People are suspicious about these strangers who could the convicts

Mangalore city police commissioner Hitendra, ACP Ravi Kumar, Suratkal station inspector Nataraj, finger specialist and other officer rushed to the spot.

Sumathi Prabhu, who lost her husband three years back, is survived by two sons and one daughter.
