Mangalore: A woman was hit by a train, while crossing the railway track at Someshwar near Ullal railway junction on Saturday July 26.

The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Lalita, wife of Subhash from Bailu near Someshwar.

Reportedly a train approaching the Ullal railway station from Kannur hit her. When the train hit Lalita, her body soared 500 metres from the accident spot, before coming crashing down  completely crushed and dislocated.

Lalita used to work in a hotel and had to take a bus from Adka. She was going towards the bus stop, which is on the other side of the track when the accident took place

Lalita is survived by her husband, Subhash; daughter, Shwetha, and son, Ajay.
