Newskarnataka – Bantwal
Bantwal: The place near the BC Road Circle in the heart of the town presents a sordid tale. Heaps of plastic wastes, bottles, glass pieces, vegetable wastes, etc etc have made the entire place unhygienic and have given an open invitation for spread of contagious diseases.

The problem only highlights the failure of the local administration to make a suitable arrangement for waste disposal and management in the fast growing town. The wastes generated in BC Road limits which ought to have been in the dumping yard are now scattered at a place called Pelattimar close by the BC Road Circle, pinpointing the failure as well as the apathetic attitude of the elected representatives and the local administration.
Once can see the garbage vehicles of the TMC carry loads of wastes and dump the same at this place. Even local residents dump the wastes from their home at this place itself. The heaps of garbage have spoiled the beauty of the entire place which has now becone a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Will the TMC administration and Health Department rise to the occasion before it is too late?
