Wenlock now open only to patients with COVID symptoms

Mangaluru: COVID-19 has claimed one life Dakshina Kannada district so far and with three more persons being infected recently, security has been beefed up around District Wenlock Hospital, which is a dedicated COVID-19 hospital.

Even though 12 persons have recovered and discharged from the hospital, four fresh cases were reported recently, out of which one 50-year-old lady from Bantwal died on Sunday afternoon.

Tense situation prevailed in Boloor area of the city when the dead body of the COVID victim was brought to the crematorium here.
However, keeping mind the safety of the positive persons, the district administration has beefed up security around the hospital.

Anybody wanting to enter the hospital will have to first seek permission of the police at the entrance. Only then they will be led to the help desk at the hospital.

Only those patients who are having the symptoms of Covid-19 will be allowed to enter and get the treatment at the hospital. If there rae no symptoms, then they will be sent to a private hospital.

As a precautionary measure, videography and photography has been prohibited at Wenlock Hospital. Those who want to take the photo or video of the hospital can do it near from Autorickshaw park, located adjacent to the hospital.
