Mangalore, April 26: Students have just finished with their academic year but the line of education continues. The National Skill Development corporation (NSDC) in association with Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Ministry of Finance, IIJT Aims, Ceyone Trust, Standard training Assessment and Reward (STAR) organized a 5-day Skill development Programme at the conference Hall, St Agnes College, Bendur here on April 25.




The programme began with an invocation ceremony. Prof Dr Devi Prabha Alva along with Trainers George Noronha, Diana D’Souza, Nidhi, Pawan Kumar and Avinash lighted the traditional lamp.
In the welcome address Prof Dr Devi Prabha Alva briefed on the importance of the word “WATCH”, Prof Alva said that the 5 letters signify Word, Action, Thoughts, Character and Honesty. She further said that if money is lost, nothing is lost, if health is lost, something will be lost but when character is lost, everything will be lost. Character is very important in making a perfect human being. Analogy of building and a human character was made and while concluding she said that the students should be humble in their Words, right in their Actions, with noble Thoughts and steady Character with Honesty.
219 students participated in the training session. All the trainers shared their experience on the occasion.
