Mangalore : The wall of a house in Kannur collapsed leading to several injuries to the occupants in the wee hours of Thursday June 12.

The injured have been identified as Sunaina (18) and Shamshad (16), daughters Yasin and Mumtaz.

According to the family, at around 2.30 am when everyone in the house were sleeping, the compound wall of their house collapsed and fell on the house. In turn, the wall of the house fell on Sunaina and her sister Shamshad.

As the house is located in an interior area, the girls could not be rushed to hospital. On the morning of June 12, after 9 am, the girls were carried for about half a kilometre to the main road and then taken to Wenlock hospital.

Yasin is a coolie and three months ago, he had shifted from Kasba Bengre with his family to a rented house at Kannur.

Corporator Sudhir Shetty, and officials Ashok D K, Ganapathy and Gangadhar visited the spot.
