Mangalore: BJP candidates deputy assembly speaker – four time MLA Yogish Bhat, two time MLA Krishna J Palamar and second time MLA Lalaji R Mendon who have contested in the assembly elections were defeated. Congress candidate bureaucrat-turned-politician J R Lobo, who contested from Mangalore south legislative constituency against Yogish Bhat surprisingly won the elections. The rigorous door-to-door campaign by J R Lobo and party activists indeed contributed for his victory. Palemar who contested from Mangalore north constituency was depicted as winning horse, while his defeat indeed toppled the political analysis and also surprised the Congress men. Congress candidate Vinay Kumar Sorake won the elections from Kaup legislative constituency, defeating Congress rebellion Vasant Salian, who contested as JDS candidate and the sitting MLA Lalaji R Mendon. The assembly results is the voters verdict who are fed up with misrule of BJP led state administration.
