Mangalore : It is Nammane of Mulki Kerekadu.This house has something special every time. This time there was a baby shower ceremony (Seemantha)here. However, it was a baby shower ceremony with a difference. Guests had arrived to take part in the ceremony and bless the pregnant woman. But this was a distinct baby shower ceremony compared to other such ceremonies as it was marked by a voter awareness programme also.

The idea of coinciding a voter awareness programme with the ceremony was that of young journalist and theatre artiste Narendra Kerekadu who thought of implementing it in his wife Usha’s Baby Shower function. The programme was inaugurated by Rajani Chandrashekhar, Director of Sri Chandrashekhar swamiji Ashram.
In her address she said every voter must exercise his franchise for the success of a democratic set up.
Narendra Kerekadu who also spoke said every voter should remember the fact that voting is his right and cast his vote without getting lured by any political party.
