Campaigning draws to a close as State gears up for Apr 17 LS polls

Bangalore : The rigorous campaigning for the sing phase Lok Sabha elections slated to be held in Karnataka on April 17 came to a close at 6 pm on Tuesday April 15. Political parties had pitched in  their top national leaders  to woo the voters in every possible way and  turn the tide in their favour. Henceforth all political parties will concentrate only on door-to-door campaigning.

Security has been stepped up across the state  to ensure a free and fair elections. Election Commission has also kept a strict eye on political parties  to detect any case of poll code violation.

If the BJP had  its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi address rallies at several places, the Congress on its part had  invited AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi to attend rallies in various places including Mangalore. Several stars too campaigned for various parties.

ADGP (Law and Order) MN Reddy said additional security forces from neighbouring states will be deployed in the state on election day as the neighbouring states do not have election that day.
