Visitors’ entry into airport to be barred from January 20-31

Mangaluru: Visitors’ entry to the terminal of the Mangalore International Airport will be barred from January 20 to January 31 because of security reasons in view of the forthcoming Republic Day. Entry tickets will not be sold to visitors during this period, according to an official press release.

It is also learnt from the release that the entry of visitors inside the terminal will be stopped and double screening of airline officials will be done till January 31, 2014,” said director of the airport, J. T. Radhakrishna in a release.

It is a regular enforcement during the Republic Day in all the airports across the country. This restriction is enforced every year during this time so that security can be ensured, he said.
