Mangaluru: Sathyajith Surathkal, convener of Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV), a right-wing group affiliated with the Sangh Parivar on Wednesday said that the act of terrorism is more dangerous than moral policing.

Mr. Surathkal said this while addressing a press meet, here in the city. He was accompanied by Mangaluru’s home stay attack key accused Subhash Padil along with other right wing activists.
Criticizing the State government’s handling of suspected terrorists and their sympathizers, Mr. Surathkal said that instead of taking stringent action against those who followed Mehdi Masoor Biswas’ Twitter @ShamiWitness, the police are letting them off with counseling. It shows irresponsibility and government’s soft corner towards the ‘terrorists’, he said and added that the Congress is keen to invoke Goonda Act, when someone from Hindu community is found in moral policing.
The rightwing leader also claimed that Karnataka has become a centre of terror activities. Most of the bomb blast occurred in the country have connections to our state. The sources of raw materials to prepare bomb or terrorists are rooted in Karnataka, he added.
He also asked the police department to act strictly on the parents of suspected terrorists in Bhatkal. The parents are trying to gain public sympathy through the media claiming that their children are arrested because they are Muslims. It sends a wrong message”, he said. The government should also take action against the parents who claimed that the police kept the bombs in their house, after arresting their sons, he said.
