Moodbidri :
Moodbidri, the town of historic importance,  has over the past two decades emerged as a prominent educational hub and also a centre of literature, art, culture and sports. The credit goes to Dr M Mohan  Alva, the Chairman of Alvas Education and Cultural Foundation.  Moodbidri is now gearing up for the mega literary and cultural festival’ Alvas Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat,  a dream and a vision of  Dr Alva.

Recognition at global level

The unique experiments of Dr M Mohan Alva are not confined merely to the district, but they have transcended all barriers and borders and have spread the fragrance of  our culture across the globe. Alvas students troupes which  has been presenting literary and   cultural programmes in various parts of the nation until 2011, spread their wings and began unfolding the cultural splendour in  the Gulf nations  this year. These programmes have won the hearts not only of Kannadigas based in the Gulf, but also the Gulf nationals.

The Gulf tour of Alvas team has also helped in increasing the delegates. Alvas troupes have won hearts and accolades for their wonderful and stupendous performances overseas.

Due recognition  to folk glory, farming  :

If  the nine Nudisiri events held so far  have  highlighted literature art and culture, the Vishwa Nudisiri will give due attention to folk glory and  agricultural field. A farm fest will also be organised by the guidance of Dr Veerendra Heggade. There will be a marshy field games event named Siri Suggi. A demonstration on agricultural implements and agricultural   activities will also be organised.

The Siri Suggi to be held  at Baikmar fields  of Sundari Anand Alva at Vidyagiri, will give a touch and feeling of farming and the life of farmers to the student community, thereby bringing them closer to the soil.

It is indeed the greatness and uniqueness of Dr Alva that   while organising a global conference he has ensured that the  distinct local flavour and the essence of the vast and rich  culture, folklore and rural life is retained. It is through novel efforts and timely experiments that  a a cultural awareness is created. The event  is being organised while  duly ensuring that the interests of the land, its literature and language are duly protected, reiterates Dr M Mohan Alva, the architect of Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat.
