Vikranth Shetty was killed to avenge an attack in 2006

Mangalore :  It has been learnt that five persons arrested in connection with the murder of Vikranth Shetty at Morgansgate recently, have  admitted during interrogations that they  killed Vikranth to avenge a previous incident of attack on one of them.

Sources said all the five including the prime accused surrendered when they were about to be arrested. They were produced before the court on August 9, Friday.

Those arrested are Sharan(32), the prime accused, Rajesh (26), Sampath(29), Yashwanth (35)and Naveen (25). The accused revealed that they  first  collided their car against Vikranth’s bike and attacked him when he fell on the ground.

They also revealed that Vikranth was attacked in retaliation to a  previous incident wherein following a strife in a bar in the year 2006, Vikranth had in defence attacked Sharan with a stone. Sharan had to be hospitalized and had to spend much on treatment, it is learnt.

If Sharan and  Yashwanth had a soft drink business, Rajesh and Naveen were painters. Another accused Sampath  was undertaking roof centring works.
