Vice Rector, Sao Camillo University, Brazil visits centre for ethics at Yenepoya University

Mangaluru: Centre for Ethics, Yenepoya University, celebrated Ethics day on 20th April 2015. Prof. Dr. Leo Pessini, Vice Rector, University of San Camillo, Sao Paolo, Brazil and Fr. Baby Ellickal, Vicar Provincial Superior, of the Ministry of the Infirm (MI) (formerly known as the Order of St.Camillus) were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.  The program began with the Chief Guest interacting with the students and alumni from the Centre for Ethics.

This was followed by planting of the sapling in the campus, which has been a tradition started by the Centre for Ethics, since 2011.  After this the visiting delegation had interaction with the Registrar Dr Raghuveer CV.  Prof Pessini appreciated the University for showing foresight and vision in investing significant resources in the Centre for Ethics

The Chief Guest e-launched the ethics day and distributed certificates to the successful students  of the Certificate Course in Clinical Ethics Consultation, Internship module Ethics and Humanities for Physiotherapy students and Choice-based Credit Courses in Bioethics/Medical ethics and Environmental Ethics. The Chief Guest expressed happiness at the activities happening in the Centre.

This was followed by a guest lecture titled  “Bioethics in Latin America and Clinical Bioethics”.  The guest lecture was followed by active question and answer session.
 
The ethics day involved participation of students in debate, case studies in Clinical ethics and collage/poster.  The enthusiasm of students was appreciable and infectious.
