Mangalore : Vibrant sketches stole the show at the fourth edition of Kudla Kala Mela, a two-day art expo with a difference which kick-started near the Kadri Park in Mangalore on December 14, Saturday. MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde inaugurated the Kala Mela jointly organised by the Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi, Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy and Department of Kannada and Culture.
In his address, Ajith Kumar Hegde said such exhibitions go a long way in encouraging youngsters in the field of art. He said art works provide solace to stressed minds and appreciated the organisers for the great event.
The art stalls put up on either side of Kadri Park Road were declared open by Roopa D Bangera, local corporator. K Sudhindra, Registrar of Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy, Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Vishnu Shiva Guru, President of Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi, Koti Prasad Alva, Honorary Advisor and others were present.
Tributes were also to Jagadish Ammunje, a well known artiste who breathed his last recently.
