Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) nurtures the value of patriotism. It’s a nationalistic organization which has kept India united since its inception 50 years ago, said Member of Parliament (MP) Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He was inaugurating the bike rally, which was organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad as a precursor to the Hindu Samajotsava, scheduled to be held in Nehru Maidan on March 1.

Mr. Kateel further said that the VHP has kept the Hindus united. “When Hinduism was under attack, the organization brought Hindus together. Hinduism does not teach hatred. But, no Hindu will tolerate any attack by others”, he added.

He also urged the people to take part in the forth coming Hindu convention in large numbers. “Don’t be afraid to take part in the convention. Be a proud Hindu”, he added.

Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt, Gurupura vented his ire against the Popular Front of India (PFI). “VHP is pro-India but PFI is pro-Pakistan. The members of PFI utter ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ remarks. It should be banned in India”, he added.

With over 1,000 motorists, the bike rally – which was largely peaceful – began from Bunts Hostel and passed through Kadri, Bendore, Balmatta, Hampankatta, State Bank, Central Market, Car Street, PVS and culminated at the Bunts Hostel.
