Vermi Compost Bins handed over to Govt D.Ed College for Women

Mangalore:Two Vermi Compost Bins were handed over to  the Government D.Ed College for Women, Balmatta at a function held at the College on September 23, Monday. JR Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South handed over the bins to  Rajalakshmi K, Principal of the College.The programme  was organized by Nisarga Foundation Charitable trust and the bins were sponsored by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Indian Overseas Bank and Vijay kumar, Member of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Bangalore.

AC Vinayaraj, Corporator of Court Ward released an informative brochure on the use of Vermi Compost bins.

Speaking after the distribution of the bins, J R Lobo said that this project will be successful if  it is implemented in all houses and institutions. He said  this would be possible if the KSPCB and the MCC came  forward to subsidize half of the production costs.

K Vijay kumar, member, KSPCB, Jayaprakash Nayak, Senior Scientific officer, KSPCB, Manjunath D, Managing trustee, Nisarga Foundation, Vasudeva Kamath, Principal, Govt P U College for women, Premchand, former corporator and others were present on the occasion.
