
Mangaluru: As a message for the World Peace Day, Rev. Fr. Nelson Dalmeida, director, Sandesha Foundation is all set to screen his fourth non-commercial short film “My Peace My Choice” on September 20 at 8.45 a.m. at the St Aloysius Gonzaga School. The film is directed, scripted and produced by him.
Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, the newly appointed Bishop of Mangalore Diocese will release the film. Rev. Fr. Dionysius Vas, Rector of St Aloysius College, Rev. Fr. Melwyn Mendonca, Manager of St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Grace Noronha, the principal of St Aloysius Gonzaga School will be the chief guests.
The special feature of the film is that Hindu, Muslim and Christian families have acted in this film. The message that “every religion is an abode of peace and harmony” is conveyed in the film to promote peace and harmony in the society. The primary motive of the film is to show that religion is not a hurdle for fellowship rather it is a cradle of peace and harmony.
Throughout the film, a peaceful and harmonious living has been shown as an attainable idea, despite the difference in religions. The protagonists share, help and celebrate festivals with no friction. They live as friendly neighbours.
Students of St Gonzaga School – Ishaan P. Shetty, Mohammed Zeeshan and Ethen Pinto – are on the cast who belong to three different religions. Interestingly, even their parents and teachers have acted in the film. This film is not far from the reality of a peaceful society, said a press release.
Fr Nelson’s three other non-commercial short films are My Country My Life, My Teacher My School, and My Dad My Mom.
