
Mangaluru: The Kavoor police have filed a suo motu case against the persons who allegedly shouted death threats against MLA U T Khader during a CAA awareness programme organised at the Gold Finch City grounds on Wednesday, January 29.
The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DKDCC) had written a letter to the Mangaluru City Police Commissioner, requesting him to take stringent legal action the culprits and take this matter up as a top priority. MLC Harish Kumar and former minister Ramanath Rai had warned of a protest if action was not taken against the culprits.
It can be recalled that a video of a group of people, who were gathered at the pro-Citizenship Amendment Act rally that was addressed by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, were seen shouting slogans in Malayalam and abusing UTK. They were heard saying that if UTK and others like him interfered in the matters of the Hindutva, then they would chop off their hands and legs.
