Mangaluru: State Minister for Food and Civil Service U T Khader visited the hospital to inquire about the health of RSS activist Sharath Kumar who was critically injured after he was severely stabbed by the miscreants in B C Road on July 4 night.

Condemning the incident with media later, Khader said, “I condemn the attack by anti social elements on Sharath Kumar. Already I and district in-charge minister have asked the police department to arrest the real culprits without any delay. Sharath may be working for an organisation but the police stated that there are no criminal cases against him. This is really a painful thing.”

On the health condition of Sharath, he said, “He is still under ventilator. Doctors are making their efforts to save him.”

On government providing financial assistance to Sharath, he said that after discussing with the district administration and district in-charge minister he would look into it.

On recurrent violence in Dakshina Kannada, he said, “When the innocents who are not involved in any criminal activities are hurt or killed it is really painful. People, especially youth should understand that elders have brought good name to this district and we must preserve it. No one should support the criminals.”

Regarding protests by right wings on July 7 at B C Road, he said, “Obviously when people are pained they protest. In a democratic country, they have a right to do so. Any protest should be done peacefully. It is a responsibility.”
