Urdu Academy to come up at Uppala soon: P B Abdul Razak

Kasargod: If all goes as per plans, then Uppala will soon house the long pending Urdu Academy, which has been sanctioned by the state government.
Speaking about the same Manjeshwara MLA P B Abdul Razak said in a press meet here that in Manjeshwara Assembly constituency alone there are over 35,000 Urdu speaking people and hence the decision of opening the Academy at Uppala was aptly taken.

With regard to the establishment of the Academy and its action plan, the MLA said that a meeting with the Minister for Culture and other dignitaries will be held during the last week of February.

He said that temporary 30 member committee, headed by Minister for Culture K C Joseph has been formed for the Academy as of now.

The Academy, he said, will focus on development of Urdu language, research, boosting Urdu learning from schools to University level among others.
