Mangaluru: An undertrial lodged at the district jail in the city died in Wenlock hospital following prolonged illness on Saturday, June 25.

Annu alias Jayanand alias Dayanand Gowda (39) from Belthangady, charged for killing his wife was admitted at Wenlock hospital after he fell ill a few days back. Doctors declared him dead on Saturday after he failed to respond to treatment.

Annu was arrested for murdering his wife Kusumavathi on May 6. Reportedly Annu who was working in Mumbai earlier for many years had health issues and was suspecting that his wife and children too would be affected. Hence he decided to murder them.
