Belthangady: The amount of garbage being dumped at a waste disposal unit in Ujire gram panchayat limits is piling up, posing threat of diseases to the nearby residents.
Though the locals have submitted a written complaint meeting the gram panchayat officials personally, no action has been taken.

Heaps of unattended garbage at the waste disposal unit in Palasadaguri has irked residents and increased the risk of infectious and water-borne diseases like Malaria and Dengue. The waste is also harming the ecology. Waste water from the unit flows directly to the wells and ponds on the low level areas polluting water.

The locals have urged the concerned authorities to take note of the issue and solve it at the earliest.
