Udupi DC arranges voter’s education programs

Udupi: Under the leadership of Dr Muddu Mohan DC, there are various Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programmes that has been arranged in the district, as a part of it a rangoli competition was organised on the street near Taluk Panchayat on Friday, April 11.

The competition was inaugurated by Muddu Mohan DC and Zilla Panchayat CEO cum president of SVEEP M Kanagavalli. Around 50 teams with 200 members participated in the Rangoli competition. An interesting and colorful way to create awareness messages for the voters mainly for women hood.

DC called on the citizens to vote and understand the strengthen the democratic set up as it is the responsibility of the people. Everyone above 18 should not miss voting and encourage others to vote too.
 
The aim of conducting such programmes is to increase the number of voter. Sixty eight percent of the people had casted their vote in the last assembly elections. This year we expect 80 to 85 percent votes through all these initiatives. The winners will get a cash prize of Rs 3000 and 2000 respectively, he said.
