Newskarnataka – Udupi

Udupi: Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha Constituency has shown tremendous increase in the voters’ statistics for the up-coming election. Within 1 year and 10 months period  there has been an increase in the number of voters by  around  1,38,712.

Number of new Voters in Chikmagalur District:

Sringeri Constituency – Number of new applications received for inclusion in voters’ list is  5,296 and out of those 5,275  were accepted. Mudigere Constituency –   Of the 5,515 new applications received,5,480  were approved. Chikmagalur Constituency –  6,151 out of the 6,154  applications, Tarikere Constituency –  4999 out of the 5,113 new applications received. Thus out of the total number of 22,078 new applications received, 21,905 were approved.

Number of new voters in Udupi District:

Udupi Constituency –  Of the 5,516 applications for inclusion in voters’ list, 5,341 were accepted. Kundapura Constituency –  4,796 applications were approved out of the total 4,913 ;  Kaup Constituency – 4, 212 out of the 4,215 new applications;  Karkala Constituency – 3,603 applications approved out of the 3,643 new applications. Thus out of the total 18,287 application for inclusion of names in voters’ list, 17,952 were approved and the names included in the list.

In total, of the 40,365 applications received in Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency  limits, 39,857 were passed.
