U T Khader seeks action against malaria

Mangalore :A review meeting of malaria control programme and a health campaign was held at Mangalore city corporation on saturday May 10.

State health minister U T Khader in his presidencial address said that the officials must take steps to prevent the spread of malaria and dengue in the city. water tanks in mangalore should be cleaned before mansoon begins.

He also expressed concern over construction workers and their poor health. Officials have been directed to conduct door-to-door visits to find mosquito breeding places and destroy it, he added.
 
J r lobo officials should make honest efforts to check the spread of vector-borne diseases. He urged the officals to take immediate steps to clean the markets and public toilets.

Mangalore north MLA Moidin Bava said that the present drainage system must be improved.

Mayor Mahabhala Marla comlaint that few hospitals in the city are neglecting these diseases.

In the meeting Deputy mayor Kavitha, corporator Shashidhar Hegde, general health secretary Shiva Kumar and others were present.
