Mangalore, May 11: Gold worth Rs 4.14 lac was seized from a passenger on saturday May 10 by the officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport.
The accussed has been identified as Muneer Pallipuzha, a resident of Pallikere, Kasargod. He had arrived at the airport on Saturday around 9.30 am by Air India Express flight IX 824 from Sharjah.
The officials seized one silver coated gold sheet weighing 116.5 grams concealed inside a flask and three gold coins weighing 24 grams totally valued at Rs 4,14,370.
Operations were conducted under the guidance of Krishna Kumar Prasad, assistant commissioner of customes, Mangalore International Airport.
Further investigation is under progress under the guidance of customs commissioner D Purushottam.
