U R Ananthamurthy accused of hurting sentiments of Hindus

Mangalore: Suraksha Pramukh of Bajrang Dal’s Dakshina Kannada unit has alleged that writer U.R. Anantamurthy hurt the sentiments of Hindus with  his writings in his book “Bettale Pooje Yaake Maadabaaradu”, recently.

Puneet Kottari of  the Bajrang Dal, has also filed a written complaint against the writer in the Mangalore North police last week, accusing him of hurting sentiments of Hindus with certain references in his book to some practices in Dakshina Kannada.

Kottari said Ananthamurthy terming ‘Kola’ of Panjurli Daiva as a theatrical act and his statement of urinating on a rock form of the Daiva had hurt the sentiments of Hindus of the region.

The Mangalore North police have registered a case.
