Kasaragod: Two women died in separate incidents in Kasaragod on Monday, July 18. While one died in an accident, the other is suspected to have ended life.

In the first case, a woman riding pillion in the scooter along with her husband and child was killed when a truck hit the scooter near Hosangadi circle on the national highway.

The deceased woman is Muneeba, aged 25, resident of Poyyathbail in Manjeshwar. Her husband Abbas aged 32 and her child Susaiba aged a year and a half were injured in the incident and are now recuperating in the hospital.

Speeding fish laden truck hit the scooter when the family was returning home from Uppala killing the woman on the spot. Her body is been kept at Mangalpadi community centre mortuary. Manjeshwar police have registered a case.

Housewife commits suicide?

In the other incident, a housewife committed suicide when she was alone at home.

Jayanthi (42), resident of GK Nagar in Surambail is the deceased.

On Sunday her husband Thimmaiah noticed her body hanging near the window at his house.

Kumble police have registered a case and are investigating.
