Kasargod: Two madrasa students drowned in a stream near Kundaguyi in Bedadka here on April 12.

The deceased has been identified as Jabir (12) from Kalladakutti in Kelathur and Jainul Abid (20) from Ramanataka in Kozikode.

Jabir was a class 7 student of Kozikode Omansheri Darul Harkha junior college. Jainul Abid and his friends had been to Jabir’s house to attend his sister’s wedding. In the afternoon, Jabir and Jainul along with their friends went to the stream. Friends tried to rescue the duo while drowning but in vain. Locals rushed to the spot to save them, but all the efforts went futile.
