Mangalore: The members of Karnataka Ayurvedic and Unani Practitioners Board along with the city police raided two dispensaries at State Bank on Saturday January 18 and arrested two fake doctors.




The arrested have been identified as Syed Mohammed Yunis Rana Rajput who owned Chauhan Dispensary and Nasrulla Rajput Chouhan who owned Dr Rajputh Dispensary.
Syed and Nasrulla have been allegedly prescribing medicine and treatments to patients for the last several years, without holding a doctor degree. Moreover, the officials have come to know that the duo haven’t even completed their basic education.
It is learnt that the Board has identified 24 such dispensaries in Dakshina Kannada district in places like Sullia, Puttur and others, and will close down all of them.
Dr Thimmappa Shettigar, Registrar of State Ayurvedic and Unani Practitioners Board, Dr Devadas, Dr Sadashiv Anand, Dr Mohammed Ashfaque, and Dr Muralidhar were part of the raid operation.
