Kasaragod: Three people died and 42 others were injured in an accident involving two private buses near iritty in Kannur district.

The deceased are Lijo (36) driver of Mary Matha bus, Suresh (38) driver of Prasad bus and an unidentified woman. As many as 42 passengers were injured in the accident and all of them were immediately shifted to various hospitals in Kannur.

Private bus Prasad was heading towards Iritty from Mattannur where as Mary Matha private bus was on its way to Tellicherry from Iritty when the accident took place.
