Mangalore: The TV Journalists’ Association of Dakshina Kannada held a protest against State Minister D K Shivakumar for allegedly assaulting and filing a fake complaint of bribing against two working journalists of state TV Channel.

TV Journalists Tharanath Kapikad and Journalist Pushparaj Shetty spoke during the protest. They stated that the minister had filed a false complaint against the two journalists who had planned a sting operation on the allegations of corruption.

Condemning the rise in cases of physical attacks on journalists, they urged the chief minister to look into the matter and said that the police are not accepting complaints from the journalists due to pressure from the minister.

Several electronic media journalists submitted a memorandum to the governor through the Deputy Commissioner.
