Mangalore : All out efforts would be made to set up a modern bus stand, central market building in Mangalore soon, JR Lobo, newly elected MLA from Mangalore South.
Addressing press persons in Mangalore on May 9, Thursday, he said top priority would be accorded towards maintenance of law and order in Mangalore and also to end the ugly practice of moral policing. He also said all possible measures would be taken to crack down the drug mafia.
Lobo said the second vented dam project at Thumbay, the Rangamandir project would be implemented soon. Footpaths will also be built in Mangalore wherever they are absent, he informed.
The Mangalore City Task Force would be revived to chalk out plans for the development of the city, Lobo said and added efforts would be made to promote tourism.
Pointing out that the existing master plan of the city suffered from some defects, he said talks will be held with the authorities concerned to ensure necessary modifications to the same.
He said all assurances given in the election manifesto will be implemented and that he will live upto the expectations of Mangaloreans.
Congress leaders, Suresh Ballal and Mohammed Badruddin were also present.
