Bantwal : Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, senior RSS leader of the district has refuted reports and allegations that the RSS had been instrumental in selecting some BJP candidates for the recently held Assembly elections.
Bhat clarified that the Sangh Parivar had nothing to do with the selection of Rajesh Naik as Bantwal candidate and added there has been no intervention by the RSS. Clarifying that the RSS never intervened in the political affairs of the BJP, Bhat said the BJP candidates were nominated by the party organizing committee president Santosh.
Pointing out that the Sangh Parivar had strived hard for BJP victory, Bhat said “ The BJP was defeated by the money power of the Congress.”
Bhat further said the chaos and confusion in the BJP and the dissatisfaction of the people over the BJP style of functioning led to the party’s defeat. Even the adverse media reports hit hard the BJP, Bhat said.
Taking a dig at newly elected Congress MLA Ramanatha Rai who had earlier said that his fight was against Dr Kalladka Bhat, the RSS leader said Rai made such a statement only to win the votes of the minorities and to project himself as their savior.
