Bantwal : Everything seems to be settling down at the Brahmarakootlu Toll Plaza which has been in the eye of the storm since the past few days. Meanwhile, toll collection at the toll gate has resumed on April 27, Sunday evening.

According to contractor Gopalkrishna Melanta, the toll collection resumed after the District Superintendent of Police assured to provide Reserve Police Force security at the toll gate.

Presently, repair works are underway at the toll gate which was vandalised by miscreants on April 26, Saturday morning.

Accused still at large: Meanwhile, the accused in the case of vandalising the toll plaza are still at large despite the police launching a search for them. SP Dr Sharanappa is camping in BC Road and is guiding the investigation.  Police have formed different teams to trace the accused.

Accused lands in hospital : It is said that one of the accused in Saturday’s case of vandalism is injured and has been admitted to a  hospital in Mangalore.  Police are on the lookout for him and are likely to arrest him as soon as he gets discharged.
