Kasaragod: Two people were arrested by Kasaragod police for illegally transporting prohibited tobacco products on Tuesday, May 10.

The arrested, Khaleel (30) and Aboobakkar(28) were transporting 30,800 packs of tobacco products filled in 10 sacks on a car.

The value of these seized items is assumed to be nearly Rs 3 lakhs. Police sources said that they were planning to sell it in various areas of Kasaragod.

As general elections in Kerala have been announced, the security is tightened in all the areas. A lot of smuggled goods have been seized by police.
