Kasargod: The communist Party of India (Marxist) aims to defeat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the centre but without having any tie-up with Congress, said S Ramachandra Pillai, a politburo member.
Addressing reporters at the Press Club, Pillai said the Congress party policy was not acceptable to CPM as it “weakened” them.
Each regional party has its own agenda and are uniting together to form a federal front to defeat BJP, Pillai said.
“BJP’s downfall is imminent as allies have started distancing themselves from the NDA. Including TDP, two parties have already walked out of the alliance and even Shivsena is unhappy. More parties are getting ready to opt out of NDA in the near future,” stated Pillai.
BJP is following anti-labour policies and the labour force must protest, Pillai said.
MP Karunakaran and District CPM General Secretary Balakrishna Master were present at the press meet.
